High School Life vs. College Life
In spite of their some
distinct features, both high school and college are the places where we can
improve ourselves in terms of education and social life. However, high school
and college have different learning environments. High school is a learning
environment which students acquire basic skills and take educational steps with
a help of teachers. Students in high school need to be told what to do in order
to find ways to solve problems and to do well in their tasks. Inappropriate
behaviors of them are usually being corrected by the teachers or parents.
College, on the contrary, is a learning environment where each student is
educating himself in one specific area. Compared to high school students,
college students are required to think through critically and apply what they
have learned without any external help. Another significant difference is the
ability to manage things. In high school, students are in restriction. They
generally need to consult with their families or teachers before making any decision.
The instructors are there for students to structure their time, whereas the
college students have to manage their own time. In comparison to high school, college
life expects students to take responsibility of the things they do and to make
their own choices. Unlike high school teachers, the professors in college do
not care the consequences of students’ decisions. All in all, high school is a
station where people prepare themselves to life, while college is a place where
people build their life.
